Dr Lisa Nishii is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Human Resource Studies & International and Comparative Labor at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations where she has been a member of the faculty since 2004. A nationally recognized expert in the field of Human Resources Management, Dr Nishii completed her doctoral work on Organizational Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of Maryland where she focused on the interrelationships between employee attributions for HR practices and the resulting business outcomes.
A prolific author, Dr Nishii has more than 20 published and pending publications on a variety of issues related to organizational dynamics, group cultures, leadership, human resources practices, and other related topics. Her extensive work in the human resources field provides a wealth of expertise for the alignment of business practices, organizational design, and leadership behaviours necessary to initiate and sustain organizational change.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr Nishii is currently conducting a series of research initiatives on the impact of culture on human resources management practices and is collaborating with Robert Rich of the Ithaca Consulting Group on the publication of a new reference text titled “Creating and Sustaining an Inclusive Climate: A Participatory Action Research Approach. ”
